Peer is at the usage level. It emphasizes a piece of p2p application facing users. It features the usage model that all peers(users) are equivalent to share or get sth and no 3. Node is at the logical overlay level. It denotes a unique hash id that maps to a physical peer. 4. However, from the technical nature, they are the same. They both represent a unique memeber in the p2p network.
